Governance & Policies

As one of the first Muslim schools in the UK, Islamia Schools have built a track record for success and excellence for over three decades.

Islamia Girls School is run by Islamia Schools Limited, a registered charity in England & Wales (charity reg. no. 1134516). The Yusuf Islam Foundation (charity reg. no. 1134513) is the parent entity of Islamia Schools Limited.

Our Board of Trustees provides strategic direction and oversight. Members work to ensure the school’s resources are well managed, staff are meaningfully deployed, and students benefit from a broad curriculum in a safe environment. They also ensure compliance with legal requirements.

The board consists of three members and, together with our parent charity the Yusuf Islam Foundation, plays a crucial role in maintaining the school’s effectiveness. Key responsibilities of the board members include:

  • Upholding and actively promoting the school’s faith, ethos, and spiritual values.
  • Shaping the school’s long-term vision in line with its faith tradition.
  • Overseeing the quality of education, pastoral care, and safeguarding.
  • Ensuring financial health, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supporting and overseeing the Headteacher and senior leadership team.

The Headteacher oversees the school's organisation, management, and the implementation of the strategic framework set by the Board of Trustees.

Trustees fulfil their statutory responsibilities well. They carry out their role in setting strategy and holding leaders to account effectively.Ofsted 2023
